Patriots Veteran Defender ‘Really Wants To Come Back’ After Super Bowl LX Loss

'Something I for sure want to get done'

The New England Patriots suffered a lopsided 29-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks at Super Bowl LX on Sunday.

It was a disappointing loss for the Patriots, and now New England will turn its focus to the offseason. The Patriots will have some intriguing decisions to make with their roster in terms of free agents, but one veteran is already campaigning to come back.

Following the loss, Patriots safety Jaylinn Hawkins said he wants to come back, as he said it’s a special group.

“I really want to come back,” Hawkins said postgame on Sunday, via Boston Herald. “These are my brothers. This is the closest I’ve ever been to anybody, any unit, any DB unit, any coaching staff, anybody.

“This group is special. All of these guys are special. The chemistry is there. It was would be a blessing. That’s something I for sure want to get done. I’d love to be back.”

Hawkins signed a one-year, $1.8 million deal with the Patriots last offseason after inking a one-year, $1,292,500 deal with New England in 2024. The safety began his career with the Atlanta Falcons, and he also played for the Los Angeles Chargers.

With the Patriots in 2025, Hawkins recorded 71 tackles, four interceptions, and 1.5 sacks.

Whether or not New England wants to bring back Hawkins is to be seen. But, in the Super Bowl loss, the safety had five tackles.
