Red Sox’s Opening Day Rotation Predicted By Bleacher Report

Who will be Boston's top five starters?

Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter made a point to predict each MLB team’s Opening Day rotation on Monday, and Boston Red Sox fans leaned in to see what Reuter had to say about Alex Cora’s club.

Reuter’s Red Sox rotation was, in order, Garrett Crochet, Sonny Gray, Ranger Suárez, Brayan Bello, and Johan Oviedo.

Reuter pointed out that Tanner Houck, Kutter Crawford, and Patrick Sandoval are expected to begin the season on the Injured List. He also listed Connelly Early, Payton Tolle, and Kyle Harrison as “other internal candidates”.

“With Sonny Gray and Johan Oviedo added via trade and Ranger Suárez inked to a five-year, $130 million deal, the Red Sox have completely rebuilt their starting rotation, but holdover Brayan Bello remains their biggest X-factor,” Reuter wrote.

“From the start of June through the end of August, he had a 2.66 ERA in 101.2 innings, and finding that level of success over a full season would take this staff to another level.”
