'I don’t have a dog in the fight'
Former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady gave his prediction for Super Bowl LX on Sunday.
New England is set to take on the Seattle Seahawks in an intriguing matchup. Given that Brady was the face of the Patriots for years, and helped them win six Super Bowls, he said he has no dog in this fight, and isn’t rooting for either team.
“I don’t have a dog in the fight in this one,” Brady said on the Let’s Go! podcast released on Monday night. “May the best team win. And in terms of the Patriots, this is a new chapter in New England, and I’m glad everyone’s embraced the Mike Vrabel regime, all the amazing players that have worked so hard to get their club to this position.
“We did it for 20 years. There was a little bit of a hiatus in there, but the Patriots are back and it’s a very exciting time for everyone in New England.”
Instead of rooting for the Patriots, Brady said he’s just hoping for an entertaining football game.
“I just wanna see good football,” Brady said. “I wanna see good plays, good throws, good strategy, good decisions.”
Of course, Brady is a part-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders now and a commentator for FOX, which could be why he said he has no dog in the fight.
But it is surprising to hear him say he has no dog in the fight when his former team is playing in the Super Bowl on Sunday.
The Patriots are 4.5-point underdogs against Seattle in Super Bowl LX. Kick-off is set for 6:30 p.m. ET.
