Julian Edelman believes Bill Belichick would be interested in a reunion after the 2024 NFL season.

No, the former Patriots wide receiver wasn't talking about a return to New England.

Edelman joined FS1's "The Herd" on Tuesday and was asked where he could see Belichick coaching if he returned to the sidelines. The ex-Patriots standout believes there could be a "real enticing" option in New York, where Belichick won two Super Bowls as Giants defensive coordinator before his tenure in New England.

"I remember vividly any time we played in New York or we played the Giants, you could just see a little jingle in Belichick's spirit because he loved talking about those old Giants teams," Edelman told host Colin Cowherd, as transcribed by USA Today. "And he loved talking about that organization. You could tell that he loved the New York Football Giants.

"He just loves the Giants. So, I think, that would probably be the place he would want to go to."

The G-Men's rich history and Belichick's familiarity with the organization might appeal to the future Hall of Fame coach, but those might be the only selling points. New York is poised to be one of the NFL's worst teams this season, and its situation at quarterback is beyond bleak. At this stage in his life and career, it's tough to imagine Belichick would be interested in a rebuild.

Then again, after a full year away from the profession he loves, Belichick might take what he can get next year.
