Roman Anthony's stock literally cannot get any higher.

Baseball America made a major change Wednesday, with Anthony now sitting at No. 1 overall on its prospect rankings after Tampa Bay Rays infielder Junior Caminero graduated from prospect status. BA officially updated its rankings last week, moving Anthony from No. 21 to No. 2.

The Red Sox have six total prospects on the list: Marcelo Mayer (11), Kristian Campbell (25), Kyle Teel (26), Braden Montgomery (61) and Franklin Arias (94) joining Anthony (1). Boston has more prospects on the list than any team other than the Seattle Mariners and Detroit Tigers.

"Anthony was one of the breakout stars of the 2023 season, and he's continued to impress throughout 2024," Baseball America wrote. "He's poised to reach the majors before his 21st birthday, and he has a combination of power and plate discipline that should serve him well for years to come."

The Red Sox last month decided to move all four of their top prospects (Anthony, Mayer, Teel and Campbell) to Triple-A Worcester, where they seem poised to have a short stay before reaching MLB.

It's not crazy to expect that Anthony, and others, reach Boston within the next year.
