The Patriots experimented with a uniform change in 2023, and it was so popular that they seem to be continuing that trend in 2024.

New England teased a tweak to its typical home uniforms Thursday, posting a video on social media in which a shopper at its team store picked out a pair of silver pants. It's been a while since the titanium-colored trousers were worn on a regular basis, with matchups against the Chicago Bears (2022), Miami Dolphins (2023) and Buffalo Bills (2023) serving as the only three examples since the club made a uniform change in 2020.

The Patriots are likely in their most unpopular era of uniforms, with the monochromatic home look they introduced after Tom Brady's exit resembles that of a cheaply made high school sports movie.

New England threw bones toward fans in recent years, however, with the previous examples we listed joining that of a few "Pat Patriot" throwback uniforms that were reintroduced in 2022. It'll be a bit before the Patriots can make any official changes, though, as the NFL has a rule that any new primary uniform that is introduced needs to stay in circulation for at least five years.

No Fun League, indeed.

The Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets are recent examples of teams to make a quick change. Could the Patriots be next?
