Rob Gronkowski Joins Patriots-Connected Theory For Bill Belichick’s Next Stop

Bill Belichick looms over the NFL with several coaches struggling to start the 2024 season. It could be a matter of time before the former New England Patriots head coach finds his next NFL home.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are the latest team thrown into that conversation, starting 0-4 under Doug Peterson, who defeated Belichick with the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII. Rob Gronkowski, who scored two touchdowns for the Patriots in that game, believes his former coach would listen on that possibility.

"I think Coach Belichick will pick up the phone if the Jacksonville Jaguars call if they have a head coach vacancy," Gronkowski told Kay Adams on "Up And Adams" on Wednesday. "No doubt about that. Coach Belichick does belong in the coaching world. I think he's doing a great job in the media this year and taking a year off. I think he will be back in the NFL next year. Everyone wants to see that. I want to see that. NFL fans want to see that."

Belichick in this scenario would join another ex-Patriot in Jacksonville in former New England quarterback Mac Jones. He won the backup job for Trevor Lawrence in training camp before a disastrous relief effort on Monday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills.

There's some talent with the Jaguars, though, the former Patriots coach would certainly have his work cut out for him.

As for the current team in New England, the Patriots currently try to set themselves on track when they host the Miami Dolphins on Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium.
