The B’s are sending a recent addition to the shelf.

Boston Bruins defenseman Andrew Peeke is “week-to-week” with an injury he suffered in Tuesday night’s shutout loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs, according to head coach Jim Montgomery.

Peeke sustained the injury on a hit by Toronto’s Max Pacioretty, who was not penalized on the play.

Montgomery does not anticipate calling anyone up from AHL-Providence.

Peeke was acquired at last season’s trade deadline for a 2027 third-round pick and defenseman Jakub Zbořil, and has played an insubstantial role since. Boston typically has him in a third-pairing role, though he’s only been a healthy scratch once. The 26-year-old is averaging 16:12 per game and has logged two assists, while ranking third on the team with 21 blocks.

The Bruins will now shift their attention toward Mason Lohrei and Parker Wotherspoon, who will each step into full-time roles as the third pair.
