NATICK, Mass. — With a new name this season, the Boston Fleet are looking to build on their identity and brand as they look to complete “unfinished business” from Year 1.

“I think it’s awesome. I think the fans wanted and couldn’t wait for a team name to be released,” forward camp invitee Kelly Baabstock told NESN.com at the team’s media day on Tuesday. “They’re super passionate and excited for the team’s Season 1. I think now that there is an identity, it’s going to be even more electric in the building. It’s cool to have that logo.”

“I would say it’s very exciting, especially with our name and our new logo and our new jersey,” defender Jessica Digirolamo added. “I think now the fans can get even more excited about season two and the seasons to come.

“It’s just getting behind the name and figuring out different chants will be great. Because normally it was, ‘Let’s Go Boston.’ Now, we actually have a name as a Fleet so that’s good. We’re already a family, but now we’re all going to come closer together because now we do have a name that keeps us all as one.”

Now that the name and logo have been resolved, the Fleet want to build on the identity they began constructing last season — that of a hard, physical team.

“Making sure that we keep the physicality in our game,” Digirolamo said. “I think that is an advantage for us. I think we’re going to play with a chip on our shoulder this year. Especially with our unfinished business. But, we’re going to play physical for sure.”

The Fleet will certainly want to bring their A-game in their home opener against the Minnesota Frost on Dec. 5, a rematch of last season’s Walter Cup Final.
