The Celtics released their new City Edition jerseys, and it might be another test of Green Teamers’ loyalty.

Boston arguably has the best home and away jerseys in the league, but modern sports is all about the new. It’s why there must be a new City Edition jersey for every NBA team. You would think it’s an opportunity for artists and designers to flex their creativity and what was rolled out Thursday was a black and neon combination with the Nike and Amica logos on the shoulders.

Fans and media were quick to post their puzzled reactions. There also was a case of coping for others when posting the warm-up jacket. However, there were some Green Teamers who didn’t completely hate the design. No matter what fans think of the new City Edition jerseys, there still will be thousands who will buy them because they just have to buy a $120 Jayson Tatum jersey or $80 shorts.

Do what you want with your disposable income, just know that there doesn’t seem to be a true consensus on what to think of the new jerseys.

What do you think of the Celtics’ new City Edition jersey? Sound off in the comments.
