Sunday’s game at Gillette Stadium will be especially significant for a certain Patriots player.
The Week 11 game between New England and the Los Angeles Rams should mark the season debut for Christian Barmore. Barmore, who was diagnosed with blood clots in late July, was lifted off the non-football injury list Saturday and is expected to return to game action in Foxboro, Mass.
The Patriots celebrated Barmore’s return to football activities last Thursday when they hyped up the star defensive tackle on social media. It didn’t go unnoticed by the 25-year-old, who responded with a heart and prayer-hands emoji.
Barmore, who signed a four-year contract extension with New England in late April, rejoined the Patriots after their front seven’s best performance of the season to date. New England sacked Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams nine times last Sunday, with seven different players factoring into that season-high mark.
So, with momentum on the Patriots defense’s side and Barmore back in the mix, Matthew Stafford could be in store for a frustrating afternoon Sunday.
