The starting pitching market got busy this week, and a former Boston Red Sox pitcher could get scooped up before winter meetings.
Both Los Angeles clubs reportedly agreed to deals with front-line starters. The Angels reportedly secured Yusei Kikuchi to a three-year deal, and the Dodgers landed Blake Snell in a blockbuster move.
Corbin Burnes and Max Fried remain the biggest names on the market, but Nathan Eovaldi also will be a sought-after arm. According to MLB Network’s Jon Morosi, the Baltimore Orioles and the Atlanta Braves were teams interested in the two-time World Series champion.
Boston also was reported to have “interest” in a reunion with Eovaldi, who left the team in free agency in 2022. The Red Sox reportedly are prioritizing Fried and Burnes along with their pursuit of Juan Soto. There’s also the trade market headlined by Garrett Crochet. However, as more names continue to find new homes, Eovaldi could be a secondary piece for a potential contender.
