A struggling Patriots offensive lineman’s wallet took a hit Saturday.
The NFL fined Vederian Lowe $5,472 for an unnecessary roughness (blindside block) penalty in the fourth quarter of New England’s loss to the Miami Dolphins.
Week 12 was a rough outing for Lowe. The third-year offensive lineman was penalized four times, and he’s been one of the most penalized offensive linemen in the league despite only nine games played.
Lowe told reporters this week his penalty issues were an “easy fix,” but the pre-snap penalties from the offensive line hurt Drake Maye and the offense and were gut wrenches following big plays.
The touchdown catch in Week 11 was Lowe’s lone highlight of the season, and he is questionable for this Sunday’s matchup against the Indianapolis Colts due to a shoulder injury.
