The Red Sox apparently are reaching deep into their bag of resources as they try to bring Juan Soto to Boston.

David Ortiz has been outspoken about his efforts to put Soto in a Red Sox uniform. But according to MLB.com’s Ian Browne, Big Papi isn’t the only Boston fan favorite who’s spoken with the superstar outfielder on the Red Sox’s behalf.

“From what I’ve heard, they’ve had everyone from David Ortiz to Rafael Devers to perhaps even Dustin Pedroia trying to sell Soto,” Browne wrote in a column published Tuesday. “I don’t think they are pulling all that stuff just to drive the market up. They want this guy.”

That’s certainly a solid contingency for the Sox. Ortiz and Pedroia both can talk to Soto about the legendary status that comes with winning multiple World Series titles in Boston. Devers also can weigh in on the championship front, but as the face of the franchise, the star third baseman can provide one of the better perspectives on the current state of the Red Sox as well as the promising future.

To be clear, Soto’s free agency decision mostly will boil down to money. But as Boston competes with other competitive clubs in the Soto sweepstakes, having a trio of superstar spokesmen in its corner doesn’t hurt.
