The Jets were all in on Aaron Rodgers, but all doesn’t seem to be right with the franchise.

New York is out of the playoff picture and left wondering what’s next after firing its head coach and general manager in one season. Owner Woody Johnson’s future also is up in the air with speculation that he could re-join the Donald Trump administration like he did in 2016.

That could be needed change as The Athletic revealed Thursday the kind of power Johnson has over the organization, much to the detriment of the on-field product.

The dysfunction was highlighted by the Jets’ offseason pursuit of Jerry Jeudy. A trade reportedly was close to happening before Johnson vetoed it over a ridiculous reason.

“(Joe) Douglas told the Broncos that Johnson didn’t want to make the trade because the owner felt Jeudy’s player rating in ‘Madden NFL,’ the popular video game, wasn’t high enough, according to multiple league sources.” The Broncos ultimately traded the receiver to the Cleveland Browns. Last Sunday, Jeudy crossed the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the first time in his career.”

Yes, apparently Jeudy’s Madden rating, which is 83, prevented New York from acquiring the promising wide receiver. The fifth-year wideout was traded from Denver to the Cleveland Browns where he recorded his first career 1,000-yard season.

The Jets made a hasty trade for Davante Adams, but it proved to be too little, too late.

Johnson’s behavior killed the mood of the team throughout the season, according to The Athletic. His teenage sons also reportedly have influence over team decisions.

It’s unbelievable, but the Jets always seemingly find a way to make a fool of themselves.
