The New England Patriots got a very favorable late holiday gift from the New York Giants with a direct path to the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
All the Patriots have to do is lose the season finale in Week 18 to the Buffalo Bills at Gillette Stadium and the pick stays in New England. If that’s the case, the Patriots have another big opportunity to add a significant piece to a rebuilding roster.
As the Giants game became final, a significant surge of traffic went straight to Tankathon.com to check the updated draft order, which placed the Patriots at the top. The site gained so much traffic that the service significantly slowed down.
“Lot of traffic has the site struggling at the moment,” Tankathon posted to X after the conclusion of the early window of Week 17 action.
If the results hold, the Patriots could be thanking the Giants for the second straight year for delivering a franchise-altering pick to New England.
