The Patriots will have plenty of cap space to sign a marquee free agent, and a pair of team leaders seemed to hint at who they want.

Cincinnati’s playoff hopes were kept alive thanks in large part to a 131-yard, three-touchdown performance from Tee Higgins on Saturday night. New England got embarrassed the same day, but that didn’t stop a vocal defensive leader from watching the Bengals’ overtime win over the Denver Broncos.

“Tee Higgins,” Davon Godchaux posted on X on Saturday.

David Andrews highlighted Higgins’ performance on “The Quick Snap” podcast where he sent a message to the star wide receiver.

“I don’t know if I’ve ever had a guy, let’s say, that’s like that. You know, a true X receiver,” Andrews said Tuesday.

Andrews named Higgins his podcast’s “hero of the week,” and the two-time Super Bowl champion’s recruitment came after Kendrick Bourne also made his plea for Higgins to join the Patriots.

Higgins hinted he prefers to stay in Cincinnati. However, things always could change, and New England fans will have to hope that the recruiting campaign will be successful.
