The Bruins have been playing without one of their best skaters for six weeks, and it will remain that way moving forward.

Hampus Lindholm was placed on injured reserve back on Nov. 16, as he suffered a lower-body injury in a win over the St. Louis Blues just four days prior. Boston originally called it a week-to-week injury, but things have stretched beyond that and will soon reach the multiple-month mark.

Bruins interim head coach Joe Sacco issued an update on Thursday.

“Not skating yet, getting closer to being on the ice,” Sacco said, per NESN’s Adam Pellerin. “We don’t have an exact time.”

Jordan Oesterle and Parker Wotherspoon have platooned in Lindholm’s vacated spot in the lineup, averaging 17:23 of ice time across 33 total games played this season.
