The Boston Red Sox already addressed true pitching needs this offseason headlined by the rotation additions of Garrett Crochet and Walker Buehler.

Boston can still greatly improve its chances in 2025 if it can move forward with another area of need. The Red Sox have a capable offense, but balancing the lineup with an impact right-handed bat would go a long way.

Boston’s been linked to Nolan Arenado for weeks and he’s yet to be traded from the St. Louis Cardinals. His potential move to Boston would have a few corresponding effects, though there’s still enough to like about the All-Star in his later years in the majors.

He’s still owed nearly $75 million over the remaining three years of his contract, though he’s still a solid defender and a right-handed bat that could find a resurgence for the Red Sox in the right environment. Luckily, Boston could be the place to be.

Arenado found a rhythm at Fenway Park with a lifetime .333 average in 13 games at Fenway Park with six home runs, nine runs scored and 15 RBIs in that span. The Red Sox could make the move with the hope the ballpark can spark a bounce-back season for Arenado after 16 home runs with the Cardinals last season.

The Red Sox still have over a month before spring training starts to make another move such as the potential Arenado trade.
