FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots have fired head coach Jerod Mayo, the team announced in a statement.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport was the first to report the firing, doing so shortly after the Patriots locker room closed.

It marks the second straight offseason the Patriots will hire a head coach. Mayo was hired in January after the Patriots fired Bill Belichick following two-plus decades with the organization.

The Patriots concluded their 2024 campaign at Gillette Stadium on Sunday following a 23-16 win against the Bills.
