Kristian Campbell thrust himself into the national spotlight in 2024 with a stellar rise through the Boston Red Sox farm system.

There’s plenty of hype surrounding Boston’s 2023 fourth-rounder, maybe even to a surprising level.

MLB.com’s Jonathan Mayo ran a survey among baseball executives as to which player stands out all-time as the best prospect to come through the sport. The Red Sox earned representation with votes for Campbell. That’s significant given the other names on the list.

Bryce Harper, Mike Trout and Alex Rodriguez marked the top three spots and Campbell fell under the “also received votes” category. That’s pretty remarkable for a player that just got to Triple-A. Campbell has yet to make his MLB debut and immediately entered a discussion with several current and soon-to-be Hall of Famers.

Campbell and baseball’s top prospect in Roman Anthony enter 2025 in a prime scenario for the Red Sox. The last five seasons marked a worst-to-first developmental rise for the organization’s farm system. Now, the big-league club is ready to reap the benefits as the Red Sox fight to end their playoff drought.
