Ladies and gentlemen, we’ve got a fantasy football expert on our hands, and the genius goes by the name of “reet.”
In Draftstreet.com’s one-week fantasy challenge for NESN.com readers, reet blew the competition away, finishing with 181.74 points, thanks to big games from Kevin Smith, Ray Rice and Aaron Rodgers. The second-place finisher, “Saleem,” was more than 25 points behind with 157.28.
With the top six finishers getting some free cash, it was a close race, as the difference between second and sixth place was just 7.44 points. The difference between second and fourth place was just 2.26 points, too.
Finishing behind Saleem was “Jaller” at 155.92 points, “Meltoe” at 155.02 points, “Garrett20mm” at 152.2 points and “danport” at 149.84 points.
The first-place finisher took home $90, the second-place finisher got $60, third-place got $40, fourth-place received $30, fifth-place received $20 and sixth-place received $10. Not bad, considering registering and competing cost absolutely nothing.
All six teams — plus nine more — beat NESN’s team, which finished 16th out of 157. NESN’s team got strong performances from Cam Newton, Jordy Nelson and Carson Palmer, but the lack of production from Beanie Wells and Ryan Mathews sunk NESN’s chances of competing.
Congratulations to all the winners and to everyone who can proudly say they beat NESN’s team at fantasy football!
