It’s time to set your lineups in one-week fantasy football games on DraftKings for Week 6 of the NFL season.
The New England Patriots return from their bye week with a much-anticipated matchup against the rival Indianapolis Colts. As you might imagine, several Patriots players are smart plays in DraftKings lineups.
Here’s our dream lineup for Week 6.
Quarterback: Tom Brady, New England Patriots ($8,100)
Brady is one of the most expensive players on DraftKings, but you can bet he’s pretty fired up for Sunday night’s revenge game against the Indianapolis Colts. Even if you take out the emotions of the game, Brady still is the best quarterback to play in daily fantasy leagues this week. He’s averaging 346 yards passing and has thrown multiple touchdowns in all four games.
Running Backs: Dion Lewis, New England Patriots ($5,800), Adrian Peterson ($7,600)
The Colts have a soft defense and the Patriots love to use Lewis in all situations, whether it’s on short check-down routes or in the running game. Patriots running backs have fared very well against the Colts from a fantasy perspective in recent seasons.
Peterson is another smart start coming off a bye week. He also has a pretty good matchup against a Kansas City Chiefs defense that’s given up 98.6 rushing yards per game and four total rushing touchdowns.
Wide Receivers: Doug Baldwin, Seattle Seahawks ($4,100); Julian Edelman, New England Patriots ($7,600), Kendall Wright, Tennessee Titans ($4,600)
Baldwin, who caught three passes for 70 yards in Week 5, is a good value play at just $4,100. He’s Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson’s No. 1 receiver and has two touchdowns in the last four games.
Wright is a gamble because of his inconsistency. He has two games of 95-plus yards and a touchdown and two games of below 30 yards and zero touchdowns. If he plays well, it could be a huge benefit to your lineup because he’s relatively cheap.
Edelman is a great play this week because Brady is very likely to have a great game. The veteran wideout has averaged 99 receiving yards with a total of three touchdowns through four games. He also has a favorable matchup against the Colts’ 28th-ranked pass defense.
Tight End: Antonio Gates, San Diego Chargers ($4,600)
Gates returned from his four-game suspension in Week 5 and caught nine passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns. He’s the No. 1 target in an excellent Chargers passing attack and should be targeted often in the red zone. Gates also is a tremendous value pick at $4,600.
Flex: Charcandrick West, Kansas City Chiefs ($4,000)
The Chiefs like to use their running backs in the passing game with screens and check-down routes, and since Jamaal Charles is out for the season with a torn ACL, his backup Charcandrick West is worth the gamble in daily leagues.
Defense: Tennessee Titans ($2,900)
The Titans held a high-scoring Buffalo Bills offense to just 14 points in Week 5, and in Week 6 they face a much worse Dolphins offense led by mediocre quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Miami hasn’t scored more than 14 points since Week 2, and that probably won’t change against the Titans’ No. 1-ranked pass defense.
