Fantasy football might be winding down for people in yearlong leagues, but the action is as intense as ever on daily fantasy sites. There are 16 games on the Week 13 schedule, which begins Thursday night with an NFC North matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions.
Here’s our FanDuel lineup for Week 13.
Quarterback: Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers ($9,000)
Newton ranks second in FanDuel points per game among all quarterbacks, and he has a favorable matchup against a New Orleans Saints defense that’s given up the second-most passing yards per game.
Running Backs: Doug Martin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($7,600); C.J. Anderson, Denver Broncos ($7,600)
Martin has a fantastic matchup versus an Atlanta Falcons defense that’s given up 13 rushing touchdowns, the second-most in the league. He also has ran for 332 yards in the last two weeks.
Anderson had a season-high 113 rushing yards and two touchdowns in Sunday night’s win over the New England Patriots. He should give fantasy owners another excellent performance in Week 13 against a horrendous San Diego Chargers run defense that’s allowed 12 rushing touchdowns and an average of 123.7 yards per game.
Wide Receivers: Emmanuel Sanders, Denver Broncos ($7,300); Brandon LaFell, New England Patriots ($6,600); Martavis Bryant, Pittsburgh Steelers ($6,900)
Sanders quickly has become a trusted target of new Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler. The veteran wideout caught six passes on nine targets for 113 yards against the Patriots, and he has a good matchup versus a weak Chargers defense in Week 13.
LaFell has been inconsistent this season and disappointed fantasy owners in Week 12, but it was a tough matchup against the league’s No. 1-ranked pass defense. He’ll have an easier time getting involved in the Patriots’ high-scoring offense against a Philadelphia Eagles team that’s given up the second-most passing touchdowns and ranks 20th in passing yards allowed per game.
Bryant averages 16.9 FanDuel points per game, the fifth-highest among all wideouts. This makes him a pretty good value at $6,900 before you even factor in his matchup against a soft Indianapolis Colts defense.
Tight End: Tyler Eifert, Cincinnati Bengals ($6,400)
Eifert is questionable for Week 13 after picking up an injury Sunday, but he’s a must-start if active. The Bengals tight end leads the league with 12 touchdown catches and always is a threat in the red zone.
Kicker: Connor Barth, Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($4,700)
Barth ranks fourth among all kickers in FanDuel points per game, yet he’s just the 14th-most expensive player at the position this week.
Defense: New York Jets ($4,600)
The Jets rank 12th in pass defense and No. 1 in run defense, and they’re playing a New York Giants offense that’s always prone to turnovers with quarterback Eli Manning at the helm.
