Fantasy Football Week 12 Waiver Wire: Must-Drop Players From Your Lineup

Fantasy football league playoffs start this week or next week for most owners, so it’s important not to waste valuable roster spots on players who are under performing.

Here are five players to drop from your fantasy football team entering Week 12.

Cody Kessler, QB, Cleveland Browns
Kessler hasn’t played well over the last two weeks, totaling 219 passing yards with a touchdown and an interception. That’s certainly not good fantasy production, making him a poor choice to replace quarterbacks on a bye in Week 13. There’s no reason to own any Browns player except wide receiver Terrelle Pryor.

Matt Jones, RB, Washington Redskins
Jones hasn’t played since Oct. 23, when he tallied just 27 yards on 10 carries against a bad Detroit Lions defense. He also didn’t play Sunday night against the Green Bay Packers. Robert Kelley has taken his job and his recent success suggests he won’t give it back to Jones anytime soon. Jones isn’t reliable enough for fantasy owners to start him at any point for the rest of the season.

Ty Montgomery, RB/WR, Green Bay Packers
The Packers are a mess, and outside of quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wideout Jordy Nelson, everyone else on their offense is a risky start. Montgomery burst onto the fantasy scene as a runner/receiver in the middle of the season, but he’s tallied just 66 total yards with zero touchdowns over the last two weeks. He’s not producing enough yards or touchdowns to be fantasy relevant, especially in non-PPR leagues.

John Brown, WR, Arizona Cardinals
Brown has tallied more than 50 receiving yards in just one of his last five games, with only one touchdown in that span. His worst performance of the season came in Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings when he caught zero passes on four targets. Brown also has four or less receptions in six of his nine games.

Dennis Pitta, TE, Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens have the third-lowest yards per pass attempt, and Pitta has been a victim of that futility. He hasn’t cracked the 50-yard mark in a single game over the last five weeks and still hasn’t found the end zone all season. Pitta has almost no value in non-PPR leagues.
