The Celtics had a minor scare on Saturday when Ray Allen went down to the floor clutching his eye after having a run-in with one of the C's big men.

Allen took a Kendrick Perkins elbow to the face during drills and required five stitches above his left eye, according to the Boston Globe.

"He took a hard elbow," Rasheed Wallace told the Globe. "It was unintentional, during a
drill. But he took a hard elbow from Perk. I thought it was clean cut,
because it wasn’t bleeding at first. After a while, that’s when it
started coming. Now we know he’s a bleeder."

The guard was able to get up on his own power but was brought to New England Baptist Hospital where he received five stitches.

"It was a post pass and cut," head coach Doc Rivers told the Globe. "Perk was supposed to hand off low and Perk was going to fake it and go high. Unfortunately, he did it too late. You couldn’t see it, then all of a sudden he’s laying down. Then you saw the blood and you’re saying, ‘Oh no, I don’t think he’s faking."
