After suffering from a plantar fascia injury in his right foot, Eli Manning's status for the Giants' Week 5 game against the Raiders was questionable. But the franchise quarterback suited up for the G-Men and helped them remain undefeated, even if they probably didn't need him to beat the struggling Raiders.

Manning completed eight of his 10 pass attempts for 173 yards and two touchdowns. He played to a perfect 158.3 quarterback rating and wasn't even needed for the second half in the Giants' 44-7 blowout.

Now having played with the injury, the Giants are aware of what Manning is able to do and not do as the injury heals and the also undefeated Saints linger in Week 6.

The Giants will remain cautious with Manning throughout the week as they prepare to face the other elite NFC team, and to ensure his health for the Sunday showdown, Eli was limited in practice on Wednesday, the New York Daily News reports.

The Giants' plan for Manning is to have him practice all week, but increase his workload each day. By doing so, they hope to maintain his health and make sure he is able to start opposite Drew Brees.
