The Montreal Canadiens used an ineligible player on Tuesday night, and the team could be facing a six-figure fine, according to TSN.

The player was Ryan White, and he was removed from the game after the first period when coach Jacques Martin was informed that he was ineligible. He had been called up from the Hamilton Bulldogs that day, but according to TSN, the Canadiens did not notify the league of his recall by the 5 p.m. deadline.

The report also says that had the Canadiens not pulled White they may have been forced to forfeit their victory.
