Milton Bradley's season in a Cubs uniform was hardly one for the ages, and it looks as though his career in Chicago is officially over.
The Cubs have traded Bradley to Seattle in exchange for pitcher Carlos Silva, according to The Seattle Times. MLB.com's Carrie Muskat and Yahoo's Tim Brown also reported via Twitter that the trade is on.
Bradley signed a three-year, $30 million deal last offseason with Chicago, but he hit just .257 with 12 home runs and 40 RBIs in 124 games. Many seasons end in disappointment at Wrigley, but Bradley was a big reason this year's team finished 7 1/2 games out of first place in the NL Central, despite the league's third-highest payroll.
The 31-year-old Bradley heads to his ninth team in 11 seasons in the majors.
Silva, 30, made just eight appearances in 2009, posting a 1-3 record and 8.60 ERA. In his career, he is 60-64 with a 4.72 ERA, 474 strikeouts and 214 walks.
