Kevin Garnett Out For at Least 10 More Days

It'll be about 10 more days until Kevin Garnett returns to the Celtics lineup, according to coach Doc Rivers.

This time, Rivers means it.

"I'm pretty sure it's in the next 10 days," said Rivers, who has used 10 days as a time frame multiple times in the past couple of weeks. "Now it's just a conditioning thing."

Sure enough, Garnett worked out today for the first time since he hyperextended his right knee Dec. 28 at Golden State. Until now he had been limited to light shooting but had not officially put the knee through any exercises, Rivers said.

Rivers called it a "minor miracle" that Garnett has been able to withstand the urge to run, given his energy level. It's that same drive that has Rivers confident his latest 10-day prediction will hold true.

"Ten days," Rivers said. "That's what it'll take."

Monday's meeting with Atlanta marks the sixth straight game Garnett has missed. He appeared in just 57 games last season before right knee ailments ended his campaign for good in March.
