Marc Savard has been cleared to play for the Bruins in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli announced the news on Tuesday morning, after the Bruins had defeated the Sabres in six games in the Conference quarterfinals.

Savard has been out since March 7, when he was hit by the Penguins' Matt Cooke. Savard returned to the ice in the past week, and has been slowly progressing toward getting back into game shape. He was thought to be able to potentially play in Monday's Game 6, but he was left off the roster.

Battling knee and foot injuries prior to suffering the Grade 2 concussion, Savard played in just 41 games this year. He scored 10 goals and recorded 23 assists.
