Red Sox Take Center Fielder With 30th Selection of Draft

The first round is history, but the Red Sox and the rest of Major League Baseball is far from done with its draft.

On Tuesday at noon, the 2010 MLB draft resumes, with Rounds 2-30 set to take place. On Wednesday at noon, Rounds 31-50 will finish out this year's draft.

The Red Sox made three picks on Monday night, thanks to two supplemental first-round selections. With the 20th overall pick, the Sox took Kolbrin Vitek, a big infielder who was named the 2010 player of the year in the Mid-American Conference for Ball State. In his college career of 142 games, he hit .359 with 35 home runs, 159 RBIs and a .440 on-base percentage.

The Sox also took outfielder Bryce Brentz with the 36th pick and then pitcher Anthony Ranaudo with the 39th.
