Shelburne Little League to Represent Vermont in Eastern Regional Tournament

Shelburne Little League is making its second trip to the East Regional Little League Tournament on Friday and first since 2005.

The Vermont state champion lost only one game in district play, averaging over 10 runs per game. The small-town team features nine players who were also on the 9-10 year old Vermont state champion team in 2008.

Shelburne looks to be the first Vermont team ever to advance to the Little League World Series on Aug. 20.

The Shelburne team opens regional play against the Connecticut state champion, Fairfield American, on Aug. 7 at 8 p.m.
