FOXBORO, Mass. — National Football League commissioner Roger Goodell expects to make a quick decision regarding the way Jets special teams coordinator Mike Westhoff publicly bashed the Patriots last week.

Westhoff, who made an appearance on a Chicago radio station, accused the Patriots of forming a wall on the sideline to prevent punt gunners from evading blockers by running out of bounds. The Jets, of course, suspended strength coach Sal Alosi last week for tripping Dolphins gunner Nolan Carroll.

Goodell said the league is investing Westhoff's comments to determine "if there's a violation of policy" for speaking out against an opposing team.

"It's something that we're looking into, our staff has been looking into," Goodell said Sunday, "and I expect to get a report in the next day or so."
