It's a well-known fact that Barack Obama loves his hometown teams, so it came as no surprise when the president announced his plans to attend the Super Bowl if the Chicago Bears win the NFC Championship on Sunday.

Reporters asked about Obama's Super Bowl plans on Wednesday after his Oval Office meeting with the president of China, according to the Associated Press. Obama laughed at the question, but said he would be rooting for the Bears in Dallas if they beat the Packers this Sunday.

"Oh, if the Bears are in the Super Bowl, we're going," he said.

The Bears will need all the support they can get heading into the tough matchup with Green Bay in the NFC Championship. The Packers are the betting favorite, as they are coming off a huge 48-21 over the No. 1-ranked Falcons in their divisional matchup.

The NFC Championship is set for Sunday at 3 p.m. at Chicago's Solider Field, and the Super Bowl will be played on Feb. 6 at the new Cowboys Stadium.
