Those eager to see Derek Jeter reach the 3,000-hit mark are going to have to wait even long.

After hitting the disabled list on June 14, the Yankees shortstop and team captain is still unclear as to when he’ll return to the field, according to Yahoo.

“I can’t give you a timetable,” Jeter told Yahoo on Friday, after throwing for the fourth straight day at New York’s spring training complex. “Best way to put it, when I’m ready to play I’ll be back.”

Jeter is trying to become just the 28th player in baseball history to eclipse the 3,000-hit mark. The chase has been put on hold since the injury.
