On the rare occasion that ESPN highlights an NHL game, Matthew Barnaby and Barry Melrose are there to break it down.

However, Barnaby stopped appearing on air as an analyst in May after an incident with his estranged wife. Barnaby was accused of causing $300 worth of damage from kicking the garage door in an attempt to enter the home.

The ex-NHL player started anger management counseling and was ordered to continue the counseling Wednesday in a hearing at Buffalo State Supreme Court. Barnaby was also given 500 hours of community service to be completed in one year, according to USA Today.

Buffalo State Supreme Court Justice Deborah Haendiges also issued a one-year order of protection for Barnaby's wife and boyfriend.

According to USA Today, Barnaby would have faced deportation had he been convicted.
