A lot has changed for Tiger Woods in the last 18 months — some were his choice, others, well, weren't.

Woods is undergoing another change, this time in his golf game.

The former No. 1 PGA player announced in a statement on his website that he has split with longtime caddie Steve Williams.

"I want to express my deepest gratitude to Stevie for all his help, but I think it's time for a change," Woods said on the site. "Stevie is an outstanding caddie and a friend and has been instrumental in many of my accomplishments. I wish him great success in the future."

Williams has served as Woods' caddie for 12 years and was one of the first to defend the golfer after Woods' sex scandal broke at the end of 2009.

Woods continues rehabilitating his left leg and has not announced the next professional tournament he'll play in or who his new caddie will be.

Williams, meanwhile, served as the caddie for No. 17 Adam Scott during the last two major tournaments.
