After playing against their teammates Tuesday night in Providence, the Bruins will get to take on players from another organization on Wednesday when they open their preseason schedule with an exhibition game against the Senators.

The Bruins will take 22 players on the trip to Ottawa. The final lineup is not set as they'll need to scratch two players from the traveling contingent with one extra forward and one extra defenseman coming along as insurance.

Captain Zdeno Chara, who is still nursing a contusion on his left leg after being hit with a shot in practice on Monday, will not be making the trip to face his former team. He remains day to day and will get some extra rest to heal up early in the exhibition season. Joe Corvo, who left Tuesday's game early with a mild lower-body injury, is also not making the trip.

Goalie Tim Thomas will also stay home after starting Tuesday's scrimmage for the victorious Black squad. Tuukka Rask and Anton Khudobin are scheduled to make the trip to Ottawa.

Joining them will be defensemen Matt Bartkowski, Colby Cohen, Andrew Ference, Dougie Hamilton, Steven Kampfer, Adam McQuaid and David Warsofsky.

The forwards scheduled to go to Ottawa are Jamie Arniel, Patrice Bergeron, Jordan Caron, Chris Clark, Chris Kelly, Jared Knight, Lane MacDermid, Benoit Pouliot, Max Sauve, Tyler Seguin, Ryan Spooner, Jamie Tardif and Shawn Thornton.
