Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall took time out his busy schedule to speak with students at Harvard University on Monday night about his experience living with borderline personality disorder.

The six-year veteran was diagnosed with BPD three months ago at Boston's McLean Hospital. Since July, Marshall has participated in routine treatment to help combat the effects of the disorder, which cause unstable views of self-image and dramatic mood swings.

As a result of working with doctors, Marshall has gone from a person who would withhold emotions to a person who shares his feelings.

"It was truly a blessing to be around people that understood me, that spoke my language, that could help me," said Marshall according to The Harvard Crimson. "The treatment gave me the opportunity to live again, to enjoy life, enjoy my successes."

Above all, Marshall urged concerned students not to hesitate to seek psychological help.

"Please use my experience and take the good out of it," said Marshall. "If you might need help, get help, and if its your friends and family, inspire them as well … You're not blessed unless you're a blessing to others."

Marshall said he still Skypes with his doctors during the season.

The Dolphins are currently 0-6.
