INDIANAPOLIS — Patriots running back Kevin Faulk won't be in uniform for Super Bowl XLVI, but tight end Rob Gronkowski is good to go.

Faulk, who is on the inactive list for the fourth time since rejoining the 53-man roster this season, is one of the Patriots' seven inactive players for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Tackle Sebastian Vollmer, wide receiver Chad Ochocinco and running back Stevan Ridley are all back in the lineup, and defensive end Alex Silvestro will also be in uniform after being promoted to the active roster Saturday.

Faulk, linebacker Gary Guyton, defensive lineman Ron Brace, running back Shane Vereen, offensive lineman Donald Thomas, offensive lineman Nick McDonald and quarterback Ryan Mallett are the Patriots' seven inactive players.

Gronkowski, who injured his left ankle in the AFC Championship, missed four practices over the last two weeks but participated in Thursday's sweats-and-shells session and Friday's walkthrough.

Mallett is inactive for the 18th game this season, including 16 straight. Vereen won't play for the 12th time this season, including the last eight games. Thomas is inactive for the sixth game, including the last three. Guyton is out for the fourth time this season, including three in a row. Brace is inactive for the fourth time since getting promoted to the 53-man roster. McDonald is inactive for the second time this season.

Interestingly, McDonald was inactive for the victorious Packers in Super Bowl XLV.

All seven of the Patriots' inactive players were not listed on the injury report.
