Bryce Harper Says He Would Vote for Chipper Jones in All-Star Game Final Vote ContestBryce Harper, in all likelihood, will play in a whole bunch of All-Star Games. So there's not a huge rush to make his first Midsummer Classic appearance this season, especially considering who he'll have to beat out to earn the bid.

Harper is one of five National League players on the Final Vote ballot for inclusion into next week's All-Star Game. Fans will have a chance to vote on the final member of both teams, and Harper is on that list. So, too, is Chipper Jones, though.

Jones, of course, revealed prior to this season that the 2012 campaign would be his last. The seven-time All-Star is destined for Cooperstown, even if he doesn't make a pit stop in Kansas City next week. However, Harper wants to see Jones win the Final Vote contest. He wants to see Jones win it so bad, in fact, that Harper says he would vote for the Braves legend.

"It's an accomplishment I guess, but you got Chipper up there," Harper said, according to The Washington Post. "I think a Hall of Famer should be able to go the All-Star Game his last year. If I was going to make a vote, I'd go vote for Chip.

"He should have already been in the All-Star Game no matter what. He's an All-Star and has been an All-Star for 20 years. I think Chip should be there, and like I said before, if I had to vote, Chip's going."

Harper is hitting .274 with eight home runs and 22 RBIs in 57 games since being called up to make his major league debut. Jones, on the other hand, is hitting .292 with six home runs and 29 RBIs.

The numbers only tell part of the story, though, as both are two of the bigger stories in baseball right now for something more than just stats. There's also still the chance that both could end up on the roster if injuries to All-Stars occur, something that seems to happen every year.

Michael Bourn, David Freese and Aaron Hill are also up for the final spot on the NL roster.
