Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz is always up for any challenge.
That’s why when former Red Sox right fielder Trot Nixon nominated Big Papi to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, he gladly accepted.
Ortiz took the field at Fenway Park before Boston’s game against the Houston Astros on Saturday — wearing Crocs and goggles — to dump a cooler full of ice cold water over his head to raise awareness for ALS. In turn, he nominated his “two boys up in the (Oakland) A’s,” pitcher Jon Lester and outfielder Jonny Gomes, to take the challenge next.

We’ll be waiting for you to top that performance, Lester and Gomes.
