FOXBORO, Mass. — Bill Belichick’s lips turned up in a smirk when asked about Kevin Faulk’s decision to wear a Tom Brady jersey when announcing the New England Patriots’ third-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Smiles can be found few and far between during Belichick’s news conferences, but he was in an unusually good mood Saturday after the draft concluded.
“Love Kevin,” Belichick said. “He always makes good decisions. Looked sharp out there.”
Faulk announced the Patriots “and Tom Brady” selected North Carolina State offensive lineman Joe Thuney on Friday night. The show of support for his former quarterback earned a mix of cheers and boos from the Chicago crowd.
Faulk, who’s a finalist for the Patriots Hall of Fame, said he received a text from Brady after making the fashion statement.
“Let’s just say that were all all brothers from a different mother,” Faulk told WEEI. “It was a move that wasn’t about me,” he added. “It was a move in support of my brother. We’ve been together for a long time, and it was a way for me to show support for Tom.”
Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio also liked the statement.
“That’s why Kevin Faulk is a potential member of the Patriots Hall of Fame,” Caserio said Friday. “We all love Kevin Faulk. Nobody more than Mr. (Robert) Kraft, Coach Belichick and I was actually able to develop a real good relationship with Kevin Faulk. Kevin Faulk’s one of the best Patriots on a multitude of levels and I think he certainly showed that (Friday night).”
