How Did Oklahoma-Ohio State Refs Miss Joe Mixon’s Blatant Drop On Kickoff Return?

The No. 14 Oklahoma Sooners appeared well on their way to a home blowout loss against No. 3 Ohio State, but Joe Mixon changed that with an electrifying 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

The play made it 14-7 Buckeyes at the time, but upon further review, the touchdown never should have counted after Mixon dropped the ball before he reached the end zone.

Somehow that was missed by the on-field refs and the replay crew.

The Sooners still ended up losing 45-24.
