ESPN’s Adam Schefter offered updates on several banged-up New England Patriots players ahead of Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Gillette Stadium.
Wide receiver Julian Edelman (foot), running back LeGarrette Blount (hip) and tight ends Martellus Bennett (ankle) and Rob Gronkowski (hamstring/illness) all are expected to play against the Bengals, according to Schefter’s source. Linebacker Jamie Collins, however, is not.
Collins, who played in each of the Patriots’ first five games, appeared on the team’s injury report Thursday and Friday with a hip ailment. He leads all New England defenders in interceptions this season with two and also ranks second in tackles with 32.
Schefter also reported the illness that kept Gronkowski out of Friday’s practice was a stomach flu.
Patriots' TE Rob Gronkowski has been battling the stomach flu but is expected to be well enough to play today vs Bengals, per source.
