Carolina sports fans won’t be able to watch their Hurricanes take on the Detroit Red Wings at PNC Arena on Monday night.
Poor ice conditions — mainly an issue with the cooling system — delayed the game’s scheduled 7 p.m. ET start time, and the conditions did not improve in time for the matchup to be played. The game was postponed as a result.

The date and time of the rescheduled game will be announced at a later date.

Teams must have at least 22 hours between games, which made 9:30 p.m. ET the cutoff for puck drop because the Red Wings play Tuesday night.

It’s a tough blow for the ‘Canes because they’ve won eight of their last nine home games.
But at least Hurricanes fans now can watch their Carolina Panthers play the Washington Redskins on “Monday Night Football.”
