The New York Giants reportedly aren’t completely against the idea of trading Odell Beckham Jr.
The star wide receiver has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately. A recently leaked, potentially damning video certainly raised some eyebrows, as did his threats of holding out unless he gets a new contract. And now there are reports of teams exploring trades for Beckham, who remains one of the league’s most dynamic talents.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport took things a step further Tuesday, reporting that the Giants actually are listening to offers for the 25-year old.
The #Giants are listening to trade calls/talks for Odell Beckham Jr and there have been several, I’m told. @wyche89 says the #Rams No. 23 pick is available. … what’s not clear is whether NY actually wants to trade him. Definitely open to listening, tho

That last part is key, as the Giants don’t have to do anything, and probably would prefer to hold on to the three-time Pro Bowler — in a perfect world.
But considering Beckham’s far-from perfect behavior, Giants co-owner John Mara might want to ride himself of the headache. After all, Mara did just say he’s “tired of answering questions about Odell’s behavior,” per Newsday’s Tom Rock.
Furthermore, while Mara did say the Gaints are “certainly not shopping” Beckham, he also said that, given New York’s 3-13 record last season, no player is “untouchable.”
