Ramirez went down in a heap and appeared to be in serious pain. He ultimately completed the at-bat, working a 10-pitch walk, but was replaced on the basepaths by Rusney Castillo.

Castillo took over in right field in the bottom of the third, with Brock Holt shifting over to left.

The Red Sox announced Ramirez’s injury as a left knee contusion, per reporters in Baltimore.
