Despite a frustrating week during which the Red Sox went 1-5 from July 18-14, Sox reliever Manny Delcarmen was lights out coming out of the Boston bullpen.
Delcarmen made four appearances, combining for three shutout innings in which he surrendered just three hits and a walk, while striking out three. He earned a hold in the Sox’ only victory of the week, a 3-1 win in Baltimore, in relief of eventual game-winner Brad Penny.
